Amb. Mark Lagon, Executive Director, Polaris Project of Washington,
DC office, visited Japan in July. About 250 people participated in

Starting 12th July, UN Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons,
Joy Ngozi Ezilo visited Japan. Polaris Japan attended a briefing
session with the Special Rapporteur with other NGO members of JNATIP
(Japan Network Against Trafficking in Persons) and shared information
on the current issues of humant trafficking in Japan.

in Japan?--Polaris Japan's Cases]
The summer has come with the lingering heat--I hope you're coping
well!
On Saturday August 8th, there will be a monthly seminar on commercial
sexual exploitation of children in Japan. Shihoko Fujiwara, coordinator
of Polaris Japan will talk about 2008 activities focusing on the new
trend of sextual exploitation of children and Polaris' activities in
combatting the crimes agains children.
In the following question-and-answer session, our staff will answer
to any questions raised. Please come join the discussion.
** Please note that the seminar will start at 4pm, which is earlier
than the previous seminars.
